To help remove 5C FireWire encryption If you’re looking for a job, then my title is probably a let down. Usually the FCC is running around doing stuff that pisses me off, but every once in a while… If you’re trying to record HD with something like a MythTV then you know how much of [...]

Vista Won’t Remember Network Passwords?
I keep most of my media on a centrally located MythTV box running Linux. I can share stream music to iTunes on my Mac by running mt-daapd and howl on my Linux box. With Windows XP, everything worked even better; all I had to do was access my music via a Samba share. Unfortunately with [...]

Ninety percent came from caring, intact families. Two-thirds had gone to college; two-thirds were married; and most had children and jobs in [...]
Doesn’t That Make It Kinda’ Useless?
I’m really not making this up! Vista’s Problem Reporting app just “reported” that it’s not working! I’m not sure if this indicates that Vista is more reliable than XP, or just as crazy as XP.
Skype Adds Business Ratings?
In an odd move, Skype’s newest beta (for Windows) includes something called SkypeFind. SkypeFind is a business-recommendation and rating system built right in to the Skype client. While Skype gained popularity through word of mouth it’s a stretch to believe that the method it gained popularity will also apply to an Internet-based rating system.
